The Ministry of Labor is finalizing a new list of industries and jobs that limit the use of women’s labor. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry.
Recall that the current list of heavy, hazardous and dangerous work, the performance of which prohibits the use of women’s labor, was approved by Order No. 162 of February 25, 2000. This list includes 456 jobs divided into 39 groups by type of production and industry.
In 2018, the Ministry of Labor published a draft of a new list of industries for which the use of women’s labor is limited. In the updated list, instead of the words on the prohibition of women’s labor in certain jobs, it is assumed only a restriction on the use of women’s labor. The list itself applies a different classification of production and work, where women’s work is not limited. The new list contained 35 aggregated positions, divided into 3 groups:
- production associated with the presence in the workplace of certain chemicals (1st and 2nd class of danger; hazardous to human reproductive health; carcinogens; allergens; anticancer drugs, hormones);
- production associated with the impact on the workplace physical factors of the working environment;
- work with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions.
At present, the Ministry of Labor is finalizing this project, taking into account the proposals of trade unions and employers.
