The Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft order on establishing the size of the subsistence minimum for Russia as a whole for the second quarter of 2019. The document is published on the Single portal.
The draft order establishes the subsistence minimum for the II quarter of 2019 on average per capita in the amount of 11,185 rubles, for the working-age population – 12,130 rubles, for pensioners – 9,236 rubles, for children – 11,004 rubles.
Compared with the previous quarter, the subsistence minimum increased per capita and for children by 4.0%, for the working-age population – by 4.1%, for pensioners – by 3.8%.
As explained in the Ministry of Labor, the increase in the subsistence minimum is due to the rising cost of food, the cost of non-food items and the cost of services.
Accordingly, in 2020 the minimum wage will amount to 12,130 rubles. Since in 2019 the minimum wage is 11,280 rubles, in 2020 it will grow by 850 rubles or 7.5%.
