The Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation warned employers and workers that in some mass media published inaccurate information about changes in the dismissal of workers.
The department notes that since February 1, 2020, the rules for dismissal have not changed. The law on the “electronic workbook” entered into force on January 1, 2020. In accordance with it, all employers must notify employees of legislative changes by July 1, 2020, and employees by December 31, 2020 – submit a written application for the choice of an electronic or paper work book. If the employee has not filed any of these applications, the employer will continue to keep his work in paper form.
Information on the new form will be issued by employers only to those employees who have chosen the electronic format of the work book. Moreover, this information should be issued to employees upon their request and not only upon dismissal.
