The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said at a meeting of the State Commission on Combating Illicit Traffic in Industrial Products in 2019 that the experiment on marking mineral and drinking water would begin in January 2020.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade had already submitted a draft government decree on the launch of an experiment on the labeling of mineral and drinking water. The experiment was expected to be conducted from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
At a meeting of the State Commission, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that departments and experts differed in assessing the amount of counterfeit mineral and bottled drinking water, presenting indicators from 2% to 30%.
“My colleagues and I came to the general conclusion that within 9 months we need to approve a general plan of action in this area, which will include an experiment on the labeling of mineral water and bottled drinking water. For 9 months we must understand, continue the experiment or set a date for the mandatory labeling of this type of product. Therefore, we can talk about the beginning of work on an experiment on the labeling of mineral and drinking water from January 2020.” – leads the words of Denis Manturov the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to Denis Manturov, at the meeting, an agreement was reached on the active and disciplined work of manufacturers with the operator of the marking system.
