The Government of the Russian Federation is discussing the issue of reducing the VAT rate on fruits and berries from 20% to 10% said Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev.
He also noted that the proposal to reduce the VAT rate on fruits and berries to 10% was received by the government in November 2018 at a meeting in the Stavropol Territory with the participation of the President and the Prime Minister.
“In my opinion, an unequivocal decision had already been made. And above all – in relation to apples, given the fact that this production is actively developing.” – said Alexey Gordeev.
Recall that at present the 10% VAT rate is valid for vegetables, including potatoes. For fruit products, the VAT rate is 20%.
