The government of the Russian Federation has extended for six months the duration of the experiment on traceability of goods. The relevant government decree dated 06.01.2020 No. 2 is published on the Official Internet portal of legal information.
Recall that from July 1, 2019, the government launched an experiment in Russia on the traceability of imported goods. In this case, it implies the creation of a unified system of accounting for goods imported into Russia and operations related to the circulation of such goods. Traceability of goods is carried out on a documentary principle without the application of control and identification marks. Organizations and individuals can participate in the experiment on a voluntary basis.
According to the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 25, 2019 No. 807, which was approved earlier, the experiment on traceability of goods was to be carried out until December 31, 2019 inclusive.
At the same time, in 2019, the Ministry of Finance began preparing amendments to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, providing for the formation of a legislative framework for the functioning of the national system of traceability of goods. In order to prepare the entrepreneurial community and authorities to participate in the work of the national goods traceability system, the deadline for the entry into force of the relevant amendments to the Tax Code is July 1, 2020.
In this regard, the Government of the Russian Federation extends the duration of the specified experiment until June 30, 2020 in order to ensure matching of the deadlines for its termination with the planned date of entry into force of the above-mentioned legislative norms.
